Book Signings & Sea Glass Coastal Arts Bazaar
Award-winning authors, some of whom have written your favorite comber-related books, will be on hand to sign copies of their books for you.

Additionally, one evening early on will be set aside for participant-artists to sell their sea glass jewelry, coastal art works, books, ‘Lucky Dip' (wrapped packets of coveted English sea glass for you to select), vintage glass fishing floats, and beach treasures from their personal collections. Interested IBC ’21 participants can register as a vendor for $30. And if we aren’t familiar with your work, please send photos of what you plan to sell there. Only beach-found treasures please or coastal themed artwork.

Beach Treasure Swap Table
“Table Combing” is one of the highlights of every IBC where a table is loaded with sea glass, shells, stones, buoys, driftwood and whatever else participants donate. And then the fun begins where anyone can scoop up whatever suits his or her fancy. This potlatch of beach treasures, along with the “Goody Bags” distributed at the outset of the conference, assures that no one goes home empty-handed.

Beach Raffle
An incredible array of beach-related items - vintage coastal books, shell and sea glass jewelry, beach bags, gift baskets, fishing floats and sea glass collections - are offered up for raffle. The proceeds generated from the raffle are used to defray the cost of the conference and support non-profit coastal conservation efforts. If you have something you would like to contribute to the raffle, please let us know beforehand.

Artifact I.D.
Ever wonder what the item you found on the shore is or its origin? Bring your beach treasures (or pictures of beach treasures) to show to others (including any interesting stories behind their discovery). Beachcomb specialists will be available to help identify and/or give you more information on them (that is, if they can!).

“The Long Good-bye” Farewell Brunch
IBC ’22 formally ends with a family-style brunch, during which time next year's conference is discussed and raffle winners are announced.

"Attending IBC is a remarkable experience! We make great friends, learn cool stuff about the crazy and beautiful things we find on the shore, and the meditative quality of our beach walking soothes the soul and inspires us to protect this habitat we love so dearly. "
